If you're looking for something steamy and erotic, this isn't the book for you. The bedroom scenes were few and pretty generic. But after reading quite a few books lately that are all erotica with no plot, this wasn't totally unwelcome. Other readers may not feel that way so the author may want to work on that. Also, the author basically squeezed in the dynamics of most of the women getting paired up with their "mate" and no one couple was the focus. While we got a feel for most of the characters involved, too much was squeezed into one book. It left out alot of the dynamic and intensity and left us with just a surface feel for all the couples being paired up and left alot of redundant scenes so that contributed to an even more to that generic feel. *spoilers* That would be my biggest complaint, specifically that every reveal of one of the alien males that he could shift into a dragon was almost identical and not necessary after the zillionth time. I lost track but there were four or five scenes of this because the males culture required them to share their big "secret" before having sex. After the first or second time the author could have skimmed over this and used the space for more depth with the couples. Or at least the women could have had varying reactions instead of every one being calmly accepting and not an ounce of shock.Despite all my negative comments I actually enjoyed the book and it was easy to read and fall into the story. The conversations were well written and there wasn't anything so choppy that I was jolted from the book like I've read with some authors. I tend to read over typos without realizing but I only found a few errors on that as well. I will also say that the storyline was excellently written up until the women were rescued, which is when all the women started being paired off. So honestly I think that its just that the author crammed too much into one book and hopefully we'll see a difference in the next one. The author left it with new plot twists at the end that will need resolved in the continuing saga so she obviously intends to write one :)

TAKEN Journey to a New Home edition by Taylor Dillion Romance eBooks Reviews
This was a hard review to do. After a lot of thought, I'm giving this one 3.5 stars. The editing on this tale was so bad in places that it made parts of the story confusing. However, the overall story line and characters were good. If the editing had been better this book would have easily gotten 4.5 stars from me. I am going to read the others because in spite of the editing, the story has me hooked
The story has some really interesting ideas about different alien life forms and ideas about other planets.
The story had several love stories going on in it, the are nice gentle stories and the sexual content is mildly erotic.
There were missing words here and there but nothing that really distracted from the story.
Over all it was an interesting story of what might happen to women taken from earth. I enjoyed it. It was an interesting entertaining light read.
This was an awesome start for a new author. Good descriptions and interesting premise. I could feel the author's heart and soul being poured into it. I liked the progression of the characters and the journey they all were on (both male as well as female). Out of all the genres SF is a hard one to write, and the author did a pretty good job with it. The romance was nicely done as well.
The only thing that I would recommend is that a beta-reader or editor was needed. It started out with small things like missing definite or indefinite articles, but moved quickly to run-on sentences or incorrect paragraph usage. It wasn't insane, but it did deter from some wonderful writing. And I would love to read more from this author (I also hope the author puts up an author page so I can follow it and make sure that I get a message from when another book comes out!).
This was certainly a good read, and many congrats to a promising new author!
I really liked this book, it was too much of an ambitious undertaking for the writer in that she was trying to have the reader follow so many character storylines in just one book. It may have been better for it to have been broken down into several instead of trying to tell so much about each person into just one book. I know that it is the first of a series, but it would have been better to have focused on fewer characters, and then release another book that runs parallel to this one, telling the remaining characters' stories. It could be somewhat confusing on following each character, and then we could have also gotten more in-depth story on the individual characters by separating them a little more. Also, it needs better editing. Almost every page had either a grammatical error, misplaced or no commas where needed, or words left out entirely. Easy things a beta reader or 3 could have caught. Otherwise, it was a very good book, and with better editing it would improve the reading continuity. I am looking forward to the next one, just because a new writer has a few beginning errors doesn't stop me from giving the writer's work another chance. The worldbuilding was good, and the characters were interesting.
Don't waste your money. Everyone talks of the story building, but it was to much. It's starts out decent, but still kind of slow. They spend weeks as a prisoner. They talk of how bored they are. Then they are taken buy another race that attack them, then sold at a slave action. There are 11 women. The race that buys them are their mates. The rest of the book (60 - 70%) is filled with all the women having their first intimate encounter with their mates, and its like hearing the same conversation over and over. The girls cook, and sew. Who knew they would have 4 sewing machines from earth on an alien space ship filled with men. The book starts to get interesting when they arrive to their home planet, but then it ends. So, if you would like a book filled with soft words, cooking for the men and sewing their own clothes, then then this book is for you. It's not my cup of tea though.
